Olpejeta-Conservancy
Day 1

Nairobi - Olpejeta

Pick up at Nairobi at the hotel or airport and drive to Ol Pejeta Ranch which is surrounded by acres of true bush country with its varied terrain of riverine forest, savannah plains and low hills. Lunch at Sweet Waters Serena Camp. Afternoon game drive introduces you to a large selection of different animals. The beautifully marked reticulated Giraffe, Buffaloes, Oryx and a lot of plain game. Enjoy spectacular views of Mount Kenya and visit the Chimps, in the 110000 acre Sanctuary. This Sanctuary is home to 42 orphaned Chimps, age varying from 2-15 years, most of which came from Jane Goodall Institute in Burundi. It’s at this Sanctuary that you will get a chance to feed Morani, a tame Black Rhino. In the evening we’ll drop you back to your chosen accommodation.
Day 2

Nanyuki - Samburu Game Reserve

Pick up at Daraja and drive to Kenya’s northern frontier to the wild, rugged, semi arid region of the nomadic Samburu people. Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the Equator, commonly referred as the Samburu 5: From the Reticulated Giraffe, the rare Grevy’s Zebra with its large furry ears, the Gerenuk Antelope standing on its hind legs to feed and Somali Ostriches with their distinctive blue legs and Beisa Oryxes. In the evening we’ll drop you back to your chosen accommodation.
Day 3

Samburu Game Reserve

Full day in Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. You may see Elephants, Cheetah, Leopard, Eland, Oryx, Impala, Dikdik, Waterbuck and a variety of birds. This lava plain includes a varied landscape of red dirt, thorn scrub, broken volcanic rock, dried riverbeds, steep hills and rocky outcroppings. Following the river’s curves, a forest of Doum Palms, Acacia and tamarind is a magical contrast of cool green. Other areas of the Reserve include the Uaso Nyiro River where crocodiles sun bath themselves on the banks. It also provides an oasis for a variety of game. Birds are abundant, with 365 species recorded, one for every day of the year. In between the game drives, there is an opportunity to visit a Samburu village at an additional cost. In the evening we’ll drop you back to your chosen accommodation.
Day 4

Samburu National Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park

After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park with an optional stop at Thompson’s Falls, a beautiful waterfall at the Ewaso Nyiro River which is 81 meters (265 feet) high. Continue with safari arriving at hotel by lunchtime. The park is a bird and rhino sanctuary and a World Heritage Site and is famous for its millions of pink flamingoes. Lunch and afternoon game drive follows. A late afternoon game drive will allow you to see the many wild animals in the park. You will also be taken to a cliff view point overlooking the lake. In the evening we’ll drop you back to your chosen accommodation.
Day 5

Lake Nakuru national park – Naivasha - Nairobi.

After a late leisurely breakfast depart Lake Nakuru stopping for a panoramic view of Lake Elementaita arriving at Naivasha for a boat ride at an extra cost. Lake Naivasha is home to an incredible variety of bird species. Over 400 species have been recorded here. In Nairobi you can visit the Giraffe Centre. We recommend a farewell dinner at the Carnivore, justifiably referred to as ‘Africa's Greatest Eating Experience’, for some succulent stew and barbecue dishes of game meat as an excellent compliment to a holiday in Kenya.
